This collection features numerous short pieces, written by an author whose primary profession has been as an interviewer and novelizer, originally published as film reviews in theater pamphlets. After a film's theatrical run, these pamphlet texts become hard to obtain and are eventually lost. For the author, these texts are a testament to the connection forged with "you," the reader who has just finished watching a film, through a shared cinematic experience. Not as a critic, but as a fellow audience member, this 25-year collection of 101 films and essays was written "because you are there." Alongside texts that pierce the very core of cinema in the most concise way, it serves as a gateway to unknown films and new ways of seeing them.
