Photographer Yuki Hayashi's first photobook. It contains multiple images taken over several years, while walking daily near his home. For example, the sparkle and sway of emotions that stir at the moment he steps out his front door, when a beautifully shining puddle or sunlight filtering through trees catches his eye. Images that evoke or portend a kind of experience or sensation that everyone unconsciously feels within ordinary landscapes, yet which resists verbalization or fixation—a poetic experience occurring between the world and oneself. It attempts to touch upon "certain uncertainty," which is usually described through abstract painting or poetry, through photography as a reproduction of reality. It explores what is activated by the sounds and colors, darkness and light, that weave together an image, prior to meaning or utility. The book design is also beautiful, with a cinematic, landscape-format photobook housed in a cool sleeve case adorned with various lines. Limited to 200 copies.
